Videogame League of Legends moves into reality TV

The Next Gamer is hunting for the next professional gamer to join the ever-growing esports movement.

Videogame title and esports favourite, League of Legends is making the transition to the small screen with a new reality TV show.

The new Australian reality series, The Next Gamer is centred around the search for a single League of Legends player good enough to turn professional within the esports remit.

40 gamers will get pared down to the solo over the course of the series, competing over five days to try to win one of ten slots in the The Next Gamer House in Sydney.

They will then go through a further week of tests and tasks over the course of a second week before the team will be narrowed to the final five.

The whole series will be broadcast on YouTube, and the winner will be awarded $10,000 and a six-month contract with a professional League of Legends team.
