The free-to-play kids virtual world will feature characters from Looney Tunes and Scooby Doo.
In Cartoon Universe, Warner Bros see its most popular characters brought to life in an interactive social virtual world for kids.
The game will go live in the ‘States this Autumn followed by an international launch in 2013.
Kids will be able to create and customise their cartoon characters in a social environment.
“They’ll love discovering a constantly changing place full of fun activities, cool rewards and memorable humours moments with their favourite characters,” said Samantha Ryan, SVP production and development at Warner Bros Interactive.
As is the custom with the top children's virtual worlds, Warner will keep Cartoon Universe fresh with regular content updates, as well as holding seasonal events for players.
Cartoon Universe is developed by WB Games Montreal. Martin Carrier, VP and studio head said: “With Cartoon Universe beingour first endeavour as a studio, we are benefiting from close collaboration with the different divisions of Warner Bros Studios, which we will apply to all of our other gams in development.”
