BOYS MONTH: Galactik Football attracts new licensee

Mica Games joins forces with JCP and Alphanim for magnetic game.

The Galactik Football licensing programme is continuing apace, with Jetix Consumer Products and Alphanim securing a deal with Mica Games for a magnetic game.

The game, which ties in with the animated series from Alphanim, is due to be launched at the end of the year in French toy stores JouéClub and Picwik, with other French retailers and toy specialists launching in early 2009.

After France, Mica Games is planning to roll out the product in summer 2009 across the UK, Germany, Spain, Hungary and Benelux.

"We are very excited to have negotiated this new deal for Galactik Football," said Richard Woolf, director of licensing for JCP. "It's a very popular series with Jetix viewers and the game fits in well with the show, bringing its excitement and action to life. We're certain kids in France will enjoy playing the game and are delighted that it's going to be rolling out in several other key markets next year, too."

Paul Keller Carlquist from Mica Games added: "The game is very easy and intuitive. Kids can get into the action in no time and play their favourite characters and relive the action-filled intensity of the show. We look forward to building a very strong product range together with Alphanim around the game and its coming accessories."
