Italian dance wear company partners with The Royal Ballet to become official sponsor and licensee of dance fitness wear.
Together, the two companies have created the Freddy Royal Ballet commercial collection to be sold in Freddy stores, the Royal Opera House Shop and through their respective online retail sites.
The collection will be available to view and purchase from www.rohshop.org from Monday December 8th and will be available from the Freedy retail network from Autumn 2009.
Dancers from The Royal Ballet worked closely with the firm’s creative director, Giacomo Novello to create a stylish but technical range to be worn by the dancers for their daily rehearsal and classes.
An initial range of four colours has been selected for the retail range, with products ranging from technical dance wear shoes and accessories to leisure wear products consisting of t-shirts, sweatshirts, fleece trousers, polar fleeces and microfiber jackets.
Monica Mason, director of The Royal Ballet said: “This is a very exciting partnership for The Royal Ballet. With a wide range of rehearsal clothes designed exclusively in consultation with the dancers, it’s a perfect fit in so many ways.”
President and founder of Freddy, Carlo Freddi said: “We’re delighted of this marriage between two leading companies in the dance field. Together we are bringing the best in dance and fitness wear to the UK, to many countries in Europe, Russia, Japan and all over the world.”
Giascorno Novello, art director of Freddy added: “I felt immediately very comfortable and excited developing The Royal Ballet Dancers Collection, thanks to the very high level of cooperation received since the beginning from the Royal Opera House as well as from all dancers; they are a great and very professional team.”
Freddy launched into the UK market in May 2008 with its first shop in Neal Street, Covent Garden.
