CPLG Sport races ahead with WRC product

CPLG Sport is looking to extend the World Rally Championship brand, striking a deal for a racing simulation cockpit, which will allow fans to drive their own WRC 'car' in front of the TV or computer.

The deal was agreed with Playseats and International Sportsworld Communicators (ISC), the global promoters and holders of the licensing and merchandising rights for the WRC.

"Playseat WRC is the next level in Playseats' race seats," said the firm's Fernando Smit. "Several new modifications mean that this chair provides the ultimate comfort, with a unique style to boot. Modelled after the dynamic race seat styling featured in the real World Rally Championship rally cars, complete with stabilizers, the WRC Playseat is the perfect way to bring the WRC racing experience home."

Gary Jacobson, commercial manager at CPLG Sport, added: "The Rally of Great Britain, which took place from October 23rd to 25th, was a huge awareness raiser for WRC and the playseats now being at retail is perfect timing."
