The Governator canned?

The new animated series hits a roadblock following the breakdown of Schwarzenegger's personal life.

US celebrity gossip site TMZ has reported that The Governator has been put on hold.

A representative for the project said: “"In light of recent events, A Squared Entertainment, POW, Stan Lee Comics, and Archie Comics, have chosen to not go forward with the Governator project."

The news comes after revelations that The Terminator fathered a child with his housekeeper ten years ago.

The Governator starred Arnie as a crime-fighting superhero, aided by his wife Maria Shriver and four children. The philandering film star has also put plans for a Hollywood comeback on ice.

The property was to encompass a 3D film, a graphic novel and a global licesing programme.
