Josh Silverman joins Disney Consumer Products

Disney Consumer Products has hired a new EVP of global licensing for Disney and Marvel.

Josh Silverman (pictured) moves over from his current role of SVP of global strategy, business development and brand management for Marvel Entertainment.

Silverman is the first big name signing since Bob Chapek took on the role of DCP president some ten weeks ago.

"As the outlines of the integrated organisation emerge, it has become clear that licensing like Disney Store and Disney Publishing needs a leader, who is directly accountable for both long-term strategic planning and day to day operations," said Chapek. "Josh's trajectory at Marvel and business acumen makes him the ideal leader for this role."

Silverman added: "I'm excited to have the opportunity to lead a dynamic team of licensing professionals and industry experts into continued growth, while infusing further creativity, collaboration and efficiency across the company and at retail."
