Firm to create first range of fragrances inspired by the BBC Worldwide brand.
BBC Worldwide Consumer Products has inked a deal with beauty giant Avon.
The agreement will see the firm create the first range of fragrances for Dancing with the Stars, the global brand of BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing.
The perfumes - Latin Sensation and Ballroom Beautiful - will be launched this winter in time for Christmas. Each fragrance collection will include a 50ml eau de toilette, a fragrance mist and a purse spray eau de toilette. They will be available to buy exclusively from independent Avon sales reps or online.
"We are thrilled that this partnership is going ahead - from the outset we believed that our audience and the Avon consumer have much in common," said Jackie Ferguson, senior international licensing manager at BBC Worldwide Consumer Products. "This alliance also allows BBC Worldwide to offer consumers, from many different countries, the opportunity to enjoy Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing with the Stars products which really capture the spirit of the show and the dance floor."
Jason King, Avon's European fragrance and colour cosmetics director, added: "The scents evoke the thrill of being swept away on the dance floor, while the precious bottles were inspired by the iconic glitter ball and dazzling jewels that are synonymous with the show."
