CITV picks up Manga TV show based on Nintendo football game

Inazuma Eleven launches on CITV and will run on weekday mornings.
Kids’ TV channel CITV has acquired the rights to air Inazuma Eleven in the UK, a Manga-style TV cartoon series.
The show is based on a cult football video game published by Nintendo for the popular handheld DS console. It airs on weekday mornings at 7.05am.
Inazuma Eleven the TV show was produced by OLM Inc. It follows the story of talented goalkeeper Mark Evans who sets out to recruit players for his football team across the world.
CITV programme manager Jamila Metran said: “We are very pleased to have secured Inazuma Eleven for broadcast on CITV. The series has proved to be internationally popular and we believe CITV is an ideal home for the programme.”
