A set of ten stamps are being introduced to mark the 150th anniversary of Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.
The White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat and Alice are all featured in the illustrations by artist Grahame Baker-Smith.
The stamps feature scenes including Alice falling down the rabbit hole, the Mad Hatter’s tea party and the game of croquet among others.
Meanwhile, the Stamp Book features the two First Class Special Stamps: Drink Me and The White Rabbit’s House, together with four First Class Definitives in Royal Mail Red. Unlike the Mint Stamps, which are gummed, all of these stamps are self-adhesive.
"The story of Alice in Wonderland remains a perennial favourite of children, and indeed adults, around the world," commented Andrew Hammond, director of stamps and collectables at Royal Mail. "It is fitting that in its 150th anniversary year, it is celebrated with a wonderful set of stamps featuring striking images that do justice to such an iconic tale."
