Now Matt Hatter heads to Spain and Portugal

Platinum Films’ Matt Hatter Chronicles is continuing its push across the globe, with broadcasters in Spain and Portugal now on board.

The 26 x 30-minute HD CGI animation will premiere this year on RTVE’s Clan TV. In addition, Canal Panda in Portugal has earmarked the series for its spring line-up on Panda Biggs, while Canal Panda in Spain will launch in March.

"Matt Hatter Chronicles is a first class addition to Clan TV, delivering exciting, modern and interactive content of the highest quality both on-air and online," said Fernando Hernandez, acquisitions executive at RTVE. "We look forward to enjoying the same success that the series has achieved in other territories around the world."

Isabel Mimoso, channel director for Canal Panda Portugal, added: "We’re delighted to add such a successful series to our 2013 schedule."

On top of this, Biplano will manage the licensing, merchandising and promotional rights for the property in Spain and Portugal.

Platinum’s CEO Nigel Stone commented: "We are immensely proud to be launching Matt Hatter with the best broadcasters in both Spain and Portugal, and on the commercial side, our partnership with Biplano extends our global licensing and merchandising reach."

Biplano will be responsible for securing licences across multiple categories for a dual roll out in Spain and Portugal in Q1 2014.
