CPLG Sport has added the Welsh Rugby Union to its roster.
The agency – which has worked with the RFU for a number of years in the licensing arena – will be looking to link up with new partners in categories including publishing, headwear and accessories, paper products, luggage, party products and homeware.
"We are very excited to be entering into this agreement with the WRU," said Nicola Thompson, CPLG Sport senior commercial manager. "Not only is Welsh rugby a huge brand with a presence across the world, but rugby in general has a bigger presence than ever, especially with the IRB RWC 2015 set to be held in England, with a number of matches taking place in Wales.
"This new role very much complements our relationship with the RFU and, having already developed a strong and wide ranging England Rugby licensing programme, we have a wealth of experience and knowledge in promoting major rugby brands that will enable us to make Welsh rugby as successful in the licensing sector as it has been on the pitch."
