Two new editions bolster Lonely Planet Traveller

The international expansion of Lonely Planet Traveller continues, with two new editions launching.

The magazine is now on sale in Germany and the United Arab Emirates, following licensing deals struck by Immediate Media, which is the exclusive sales agent for BBC Worldwide.

The German Lonely Planet Traveller – published by Life House Media – is initially bi-monthly and is also available in Austria and Switzerland. The first issue launched in December and featured a 70/30 split of local content.

Meanwhile, CPI Publishing is producing Lonely Planet’s Middle East edition. The monthly title, which is in English, will be a 50/50 split between local and UK content with a distribution of 7,500.

"It’s incredibly exciting that the Lonely Planet Traveller brand has now penetrated the largest magazine market in Europe and one of the most diverse in the UAE with our Middle East edition," said Joanna Alexandre, Immediate Media’s head of licensing and syndication. "With our 12th and 13th licencese, the international appeal of the brand goes from strength to strength."
