Random House Children’s Publishers is the latest addition to the growing licensing programme Cbeebies’ show Woolly and Tig.
RHCP will publish the first books in the summer, with an ongoing publishing programme planned across picture books, sticker, activity, novelty and ebook formats.
The firm has partnered with Tattiemoon, producers of the show, to bring out a range of pre-school publishing that invites readers to join Tig and her cuddly toy spider Woolly, as they explore the feelings that children have when faced with new experiences.
Using stories written by creator Brian Jameson, the range will launch with a picture book and sticker activity book this July, with a second picture book and lift-the-flap novelty title in October.
2013 is shaping up to be a busy year for Woolly and Tig as Brands with Influence, representing the brand, has also recently negotiated deals with Golden Bear for toys and Abbey Home Media for DVD.
The second series will air on CBeebies this spring and be supported with licensed merchandise in store from April.
Fiona Macmillan, RHCP publisher, Colour and Licensing, commented: "We’re so excited to be working with BWI and Tattiemoon to extend the world of Woolly and Tig into publishing. The show has captured the imagination of pre-school children everywhere, and we’re developing a range of publishing that enables readers to have fun with Woolly, while exploring their feelings around new
situations and experiences."
