Egmont’s Toxic comes to life with new interactive issue

Toxic, the top selling magazine for tween boys, has launched its first interactive issue using Aurasma technology.

The February 13th issue of the Egmont title will use augmented reality technology to feature interactive content throughout the magazine. This will include 3D animated cartoon characters and embedded videos relating to key magazine franchises and core brands.

Ten sites in the magazine have been given the AR treatment and brands involved include LEGO, Skylanders, Guinness World Records, Firebox and Monsters, Inc.

To access the AR content, readers will have to download the free Aurasma app onto their smartphone or tablet and hold their device over the page.

"We are thrilled to have partnered with Aurasma to bring to market our first interactive magazine issue," said Siobhan Galvin, publisher of Toxic. "We know from the fans visiting toxicmag.co.uk that on-screen content and videos are popular alongside the magazine itself."
