The Professional Publisher’s Association (PPA) is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a Cover of the Century award.
This list is now made up of the final ten covers, several of which feature long-running licensed properties.
There’s a Beano in the running, featuring a close-up of Dennis the Menace, as well as Empire’s Darth Vader Star Wars cover and Radio Times’ Doctor Who Dalek cover.
The public can vote for their favourite cover over at http://www.ppa.co.uk/ppa100/vote/. Visitors can vote for the same cover – or another – on a daily basis.
Start Licensing’s Ian Downes told Licensing.biz: "We are delighted that The Beano has made the top ten – the cover concerned being a cover from February 13th, 1999 featuring Dennis the Menace."
"We are delighted that The Beano has been recognised in this way. This again reinforces the iconic status of The Beano and the high level of regard for the title in the UK market."
