Iron Man 3 has topped the UK Box Office in its opening weekend.
Disney’s Marvel movie made £13.5m last weekend, including £2.3 million from previews, reports Screen Daily.
That’s the second biggest Marvel opening in the UK, behind last year’s hit Avengers Assemble, which generated £15.8m in its opening weekend and eventually £51.9 million overall.
Iron Man 3 also took an estimated £125.8 million ($195.3 million) worldwide, reports Digital Spy.
The superhero movie broke opening weekend records in Argentina, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Vietnam, Taiwan, the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore.
Comparatively, The Avengers took £119.2 million ($185.1 million) during its international opening weekend last summer.
And Iron Man 3 isn’t even out in the States yet. It arrives in US cinemas this week (Friday, May 3rd).
