Entertainment One has entered into a partnership with Simon’s Cat Ltd to handle distribution rights of Simon’s Cat.
eOne will look after the property across all media channels including TV, home entertainment, licensing and online.
The animated series featuring the antics of a fat white cat and his owner Simon has reached 1.72 million subscribers on its core YouTube channel.
The short features have generated 358 million online views since its creation in 2008.
Olivier Dumont, MD at eOne Licensing and eOne Family, said: "This deal marks eOne’s first major step towards the development of licensing programmes for brands conceived in the non-linear space for a broader audience.
"Online content is being consumed by audiences around the world like never before, thus creating a unique sort of brand awareness that we’re eager to harness.

The new addition to eOne Licensing joins a portfolio of successful brands including Peppa Pig.
