Special Smurfs-branded Monopoly to launch

With The Smurfs 2 hitting cinema screens worldwide this summer, the licensing programme is also continuing to grow – with USAopoly the latest partner to come on board.

Sony Pictures Consumer Marketing has teamed up with the firm to create a special Smurfs-branded Monopoly (under licence from Hasbro).

Exclusive features of Monopoly: The Smurfs Collector’s Edition include 22 unique Smurf Village locations such as Grouchy’s Mushroom House and Brainy’s Library. The traditional Chance and Community Chest cards are transformed into Potions and Surprise cards, while the money is now Smurfberries.

The six game tokens are Papa Smurf, Smurfette, Lazy, Brainy, Vanity and Handy.

"We’re excited to combine these iconic characters with this beloved board game," said Adam Sblendorio, creative director of USAopoly. "It’s fun-filled nostalgia and Smurfloads of memories in the making in a box."
