Man of Steel is odds-on to be the highest-grossing film in the UK Box Office this year at 6/4.
Bookmaker William Hill has also issued odds of a sequel being made at at 1/3.
The price of film star Harry Cavill being the next James Bond has doubled from 10/1 to 20/1.
The odds for a sequel containing Cavill to be produced before 2020 are 1/3, or 9/4 for it not to happen.
Man of Steel is in UK cinemas today.
“Henry Cavill looks the part and we believe Man of Steel has a great chance of being the biggest film of the year,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.
“Sadly for Mr Cavill, the film’s success will probably ruin any chance he had of being the next Bond.”
