Sega renews Insert Coin deal, Sonic leggings due

Sega Europe has renewed its apparel licence agreement with gaming clothing specialist Insert Coin.

The new agreement will kick off with the launch of a pair of Sonic the Hedgehog leggings, available from July via Insert Coin’s website at www.insertcoinclothing.com.

The leggings will have a RRP of £30 and will be available in sizes S,M, L and XL. They’re inspired by the Green Hill Zone level from the original Sonic Mega Drive video game from 1991.

Insert Coin will also create and retail further items including Sonic T-shirts featuring Space Channel 5 and Jet Set Radio artwork which will be available from August, priced at £25.

Sega will devise a consumer PR and celebrity sampling programme in partnership with its PR agency MiPR to create excitement around this new range of apparel.

Sissel Henno, head of brand licensing at Sega, commented: "Our Sonic fans live and breathe the brand and we know they will go wild when they see these new designs.

"We expect to see plenty of Green Hill leggings on show across UK festivals this summer."
