Peppa Pig awarded for Spanish merch programme

Entertainment One has picked up a prestigious El Chupete Award in Spain for its Peppa Pig brand.

The property picked up Best Children’s Character 2013 at Spain’s Festival Internacional de Comunicaci√≥n Infantil El Chupete. This recognises creative achievements in communications and advertising aimed at children.

Licensing agent El Ocho has assembled a line-up of 55 licensees including Bandai (toys), Random House Mondadori (publishing), United Labels (apparel), Bauer (magazine) and Simba Smoby (role-play/games).

"We’re delighted that Peppa is resonating so strongly with critics and audiences in Spain," said Andrew Carley, head of global licensing at Entertainment One. "It’s always a pleasure when brands get recognised for their success and we’re thrilled to share this honour with our partners in Spain and the global Peppa family."
