BBC Worldwide expands commissioning team

BBC Worldwide has expanded its commissioning and original content team with two new appointments.

Julie Swanston has arrived from UKTV Entertainment to become executive producer for BBC America and BBC Worldwide Channels.

Meanwhile, Lucy Pilkington has began a freelance executive producer role for BBC Worldwide, overseeing and executive producing a slate of original programmes which include Million Dollar Intern and Richard Bacon’s Best in Town.

Pilkington has previously held roles at October Films and Channel 4’s Specialist Factual division.

"It’s an exciting time for our commissioning strategy, welcoming Julie Swanston this September in this joint role with BBC America," said Tracy Forsyth, VP commissioning at BBC Worldwide. "I’m also delighted that Lucy Pilkington has joined us to work on some fantastic projects."
