Viacom International Media Networks has launched the world’s second Paramount Channel in France, debuting across the region last night.
Launched at 18.10 on Thursday September 5th, the channel presents French audiences with movies from the 100 year old film library of Paramount Pictures, including blockbusters, classics and award winners.
The Paramount Channel is available in high definition, with a PC, mobile, tablet multi-screen simulcast experience as well as a catch up TV service.
Throughout its first month, the channel will celebrate the films of Hollywood director Steven Spielberg with popular titles including Minority Report, A.I., The Terminal and Amistad.
The channel will also mark Friday, September 13th by airing the classic eighties horror trilogy Friday the 13th Parts One, Two and Three.
Viacom’s first Paramount Channel launched in Spain in April 2012 and has since enjoyed solid ratings, achieving its biggest monthly market share to date last month (1.6 per cent in August).
The new French channel is the fourth VIMN network airing in France, joining MTV, Nickelodeon and Game One.
