Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products has detailed a range of toy and collectibles partnerships to celebrate The Simpsons’ 25th anniversary.
NECA will release a limited edition range of figures, collectibles, novelty items, as well as apparel, based on 25 of the greatest celebrity guest stars to appear on The Simpsons.
The first wave of five figures will be available in March 2014, with further groups of five released each quarter of this year.
A deal with Promotional Partners Worldwide will see Homer Simpson immortalised as a Mr Potato Head toy. The product will feature his iconic white shirt, blue trousers, and donut. He stands at six inches tall and comes in a window display box along with the classic couch background as a diorama setting.
Mattel will release two Hot Wheels die-cast celebratory ‘The Homer’ vehicles.
One will be in the brand’s basic assortment and another is a special collector’s edition boasting premium features and styling. Both feature the signature design of Homer Simpson’s infamous vehicle creation seen in the Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? episode.
Hot Wheels’ basic ‘The Homer’ will appear this spring with the collector version debuting later this year.
Staying with cars, Hornby Scalextric will bring The Simpsons Grand Prix Micro Scalextric racing set will be to shelves worldwide in March 2014.
Following hot on the heels of The LEGO Movie is a limited edition The Simpsons LEGO set and Minifigures range.
Fans will be able to build The Simpsons home, and Homer’s car, this month, while FOX will air a special episode of The Simpsons made entirely from LEGO in May 2014.
Elsewhere, Cardinal Games’ The Simpsons 25th Anniversary Trivia Game will be sold exclusively at Target stores and features 300 trivia questions written by fans.
Commonwealth’s new line of The Simpsons limited-edition plush dolls are available now while Gemmy will be launching a new line of air blown inflatables and seasonal items featuring Homer and Bart in October 2014.
