This year’s Kidscreen Summit attracted a crowd of almost 1,700 kids entertainment professionals to New York earlier this month.
Attendance overall was up by ten per cent, with the biggest contributing factor being a 13 per cent increase in delegates from the US. In addition, there was a greater number of participants from Africa (80 per cent more), the Middle East (45 per cent more) and Asia Pacific (ten per cent more).
In terms of audience composition, 25 per cent more consumer products executives attended this year compared to 2013, including 50 per cent more toy industry professionals. Nearly 450 children’s programming buyers were also at the event, representing a ten per cent increase.
Kidscreen is now preparing for the summer launch of Kidscreen East in Qingdao, China. A joint venture with the China Animation Association, the event will take place from July 22nd to 24th and is designed to bring kids entertainment executives from the East and West together for three days of networking and learning.
