Global fashion brand Lee Cooper will expand its presence in the South American market.
The brand will debut in Colombia for autumn/winter 2014, thanks to Lee Cooper’s newest partner, Schontal C. I. Limitada.
The firm will be manufacturing Lee Cooper clothing and footwear for men and women, with a view to offer further brand extensions once the brand has become established in the new market.
Schontal’s business strategy for Lee Cooper will focus primarily on a wholesale model, with retail plans also afoot in the form of a Colombiam flagship store towards the end of 2014.
"Our long-term plan for Lee Cooper in the Colombian market is to achieve a good and firm positioning of the brand, paired with good sales numbers, but growing under sure steps execution," said Alan Chiu, president of Schontal.
Andy Dunkley, CEO of Lee Cooper, added: "We have been discussing this opportunity for a long time and are glad to be underway. This is another step in our expansion across the Americas and we anticipated more announcements in due course.
"We have now grown our global retail sales beyond $500m and we will continue this strong growth through 2014 and beyond."
