Star Wars: Episode VII to start filming this May

Star Wars: Episode VII is set to start shooting at Pinewood Studios near London this May, Disney and Lucasfilm have confirmed.

The latest instalment in the series will be set around 30 years after the events of Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.

A press release has revealed that Episode VII “will star a trio of new young leads along with some very familiar faces.”

The statement is certain to start even more internet rumours, but as of yet there has been no confirmation that Mark Hamil, Harrison Ford or Carrie Fisher will appear in the film.

Directed by JJ Abrams, the film is scheduled for release in cinemas on December 18th, 2015.

The Hollywood Reporter claims Adam Driver is in final negotiations to play the film’s main villain.

Driver has appeared in recent films including Lincoln and Inside Llewyn Davis, but is best known for his role in TV series, Girls.
