4.4 million UK homes now have a Netflix subscription, claims Ofcom report

Ofcom’s annual Communications Market Report has revealed that Netflix UK has grown its paid subscriptions to 4.4 million households.

Elsewhere, the report found that Amazon Prime Instant Video reversed declines during 2014 to reach 1.2 million UK homes this year.

The report also states that 75 per cent of paying SVOD customers in the UK watch films, 49 per cent watch US series, 37 per cent tune in for UK series, 31 per cent check out original programming and 23 per cent watch kids programming.

Ofcom bases its figures on survey-based data drawn from a wide range of reports.
