IMG has secured a multi-year deal to become the worldwide licensing representative for the global sports brand, Gola.

Under the new deal, IMG will work alongside Gola to extend the brand outside of its core footwear category, developing a lifestyle licensing programme driven by fashion and fashion accessories.

Founded in 1905, Gola enjoys a long heritage with the sports footwear sector in the UK.

“One of the biggest British sportswear brands in the 1960s and 70s, Gola remains iconic today due to its authentic sports and fashion influences,” said Gabrielle Sims, licensing director at IMG.

“With legacy sporting brands making a comeback, it couldn’t be a better time to relaunch Gola, a brand with such a unique sporting story.

“Coupled with its quintessential Britishness, we have a great point of difference in this competitive marketplace. Our licensing programme will stay true to the brand’s British roots and build on its enduring appeal to take the programme to the next level globally.”
