Mexico welcomes the Moomins with first dedicated shop

Moomin Characters has opened the first Moomins Shop in Mexico.

Having opened its doors on November 6th, the new store marks the first of its kind on the American continent.

Located in the Mall Galerias Guadalajara in the city of Guadalajara itself, the store features an extensive collection of Moomins products from books, t-shirts, cups and plates, plush toys, key chains, cards and children’s toys.

The move comes as brand owners Moomin Characters eyes Mexico as a an important cultural center with plans for products to be made in Mexico under the Moomin Characters license in the future.

Gabriela Ramcke Lancaster, general director of El Sombrero del Mago, the licence holders for the Moomin Shop in Mexico, said: “I believe that Mexico needs characters such as the Moomins, which fill the minds and hearts of children and adults with positive messages such as friendship and care for nature.

“Bringing the Moomins to Mexico is a dream come true. I established El Sombrero del Mago with the dream of not only bringing the Moomins closer, but also to bring something different with a positive message that help us to create a better place for all.”
