Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products’ pre-school offering has been billed as its ‘strongest line up to date,’ thanks to continued demand for the hit series, Paw Patrol.
With the likes of Dora the Explorer, Blaze and the Monster Machines and Shimmer and Shine to its name, the firm is confident that 2016 is going to be ‘a huge year.’
The comments emerged as Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products showcased its growing 2016.17 property portfolio at the annual Upfront event to key retailers and licensees in Melbourne.
During the presentation, Jihee Nam, general manager for Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand revealed that the firm’s pre-school channel had grown by 48 per cent over the last year.
On top of this, the firm is looking at a retail footprint billed ‘bigger than ever.’
Mark Kingston, general manager and senior vice president for Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products Europe, Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand, said: “Our pre-school portfolio has never been stronger and our retail footprint is bigger than ever.
“I doubt anyone could say they’ve never heard of Paw Patrol – it is the number one series wherever it is launched in the world and the number one pre-school brand at the top retailers around the globe.
“With endless opportunities in the boy and girls’ space, it is going to be a huge year.”
Paw Patrol has scooped a number of accolades already this year including the 2016 Licensed Pre-School Property of the Year at the Australian Toy Association’s Product of the Year Awards and 2015 toy and Hobby Retailer License of the Year and Pre-School Toy of the Year.
Meanwhile, other perennial favourites such as SpongeBob SquarePants and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles continue to thrive in the kids’ space.
