Danilo joins as first licensee for Ladybird Books for Grown-Ups

Penguin Ventures and Start Licensing are teaming up with Danilo, who has been named the first licensee for the Ladybird Books for its Grown-Ups licensing programme.

Various books for grown-ups will be available for fans, including How to Cope with the Birthday Hangover, Happy Birthday to the Husband and more.

“We’re delighted to be working with such a fun and exciting brand. With Ladybird Books For Grown-Ups occupying seven out of the top eight best-selling books, we feel this range lends itself perfectly to the adult gifting market,” said Dan Grant, senior licensing manager at Danilo.

“We are excited to launch these new products and feel this could be one of the best performing ranges for 2016/17.”

As part of the deal, Danilo will also develop a full range that will span greeting cards, calendars and gift wrap.

Damian Treece, brand manager at Penguin Books, added: “We’re all absolutely thrilled to be working with Danilo on the Ladybird Books for Grown-Ups range.

“As a company they have a proven track record working with humour licenses and gift retailers. Pair those factors with their fantastic design capability and speed to market, and we’re excited to build a long and successful programme.”
