Jumbo Games celebrates 50 years of Star Trek with new puzzle range

UK puzzle manufacturer Jumbo Games has teamed with CBS to develop a range of Star Trek jigsaw puzzles in celebration of the sci-fi franchise’s 50th anniversary this year.

The line will land on shelves this September and will feature a collection of 500 piece and 100 piece puzzles, all billed as the ‘ideal collectable for fans old and new.’

The 1000 piece puzzle will depict imagery of key characters, ships and universes across Star Trek’s successful decades, while the 500 piece puzzle will focus on Star Trek Next Generation, featuring the popular Captain Jean Luc-Picard.

Stewart Middleton, managing director at Jumbo Games, said “We are very excited to work with CBS and CPLG on this fantastic franchise, especially as Star Trek is celebrating 50 years – can you believe it?

"The puzzles will make brilliant collectable pieces, that we envisage being very popular with many new and long standing trekkies."

The line will arrive ahead of the launch of a dedicated Star Trek exhibiton at Birmingham’s NEC this October, during which time the firm expects to see ‘very high’ demand for its new Star Trek puzzles.

“With the Destination Star Trek fan expo coming to the NEC, Birmingham from 7th – 9th October and attended by thousands of dedicated fans throughout Europe, we expect the demand for these new lines will be very high.” added Stewart.
