Bottersnikes & Gumbles to make international debut on Netflix

The new CGI series, Bottersnikes and Gumbles is preparing to make its international debut thanks to a broadcasting partnership with Netflix.

26 episodes of the award-winning series will premiere worldwide in 17 languages with the exception of Australia and the UK, which will welcome the series to Netflix in 2017.

The show will launch on the internet TV service on August 16th and will follow the UK premiere of the show on CBBC on July 25th.

Bottersnikes & Gumbles follows the adventures of three Gumbles: Tink, Bounce and Willi as they live their life in Junk Alley and go head to head with their neighbours, the Bottersnikes.

Bottersnikes & Gumbles earned this year’s Pulcinella Award for Best Kids TV Series at the international animation festival Cartoon on the Bay in Venice.

The series has been adapted from the popular Bottersnikes and Gumbles book series written by S.A. Wakefield, published in the UK and Australia between 1967 and 1989.

“First Australia, then the UK, and now Bottersnikes & Gumbles is coming to the US on Netflix,” said Patrick Egerton, executive producer at Cheeky Little Media, the production studio behind the CGI animated series.

“I wonder if Sam Wakefield ever imagined this when he wrote the original books in the 1960s? Making this show and bringing these much loved characters to life has been amazing. We can’t wait to share this awesome show with the Netflix audience.”
