The Harlem Globetrotters appoint Suited Brands as UK agent

Suited Brands has been named licensing agent for exhibition basketball team, The Harlem Globetrotters.

Apparel manufacturers Fashion-UK and Blackstone Design are already on board to launch the brand on the High Street, while Suited Brands are pursuing further opportunities to grow the brand in sporting accessories, stationery and gifting.

“Suited Brands are extremely proud to work with such an internationally known brand. They are one of the few truly globally-recognised brands, you can go anywhere in the world, say ‘Globetrotters,’ and it will put a smile on people’s faces, young and old," said Jake Brocklehurst, MD at Suited Brands.

"There is a major trend in the UK for American brands with heritage and we are able to access The Globetrotters rich history of designs and assets. The Globetrotters have also released a new logo and style guide for the first time in 25 years”.

Karl Mawhinney, VP of global corporate partnership at Harlem Globetrotters International Inc, added: “The Globetrotters are innovators and trendsetters – always looking forward – and are a team of ‘firsts’. We are thrilled to partner with Suited Brands as our exclusive UK agent to expand the brand into new categories with compelling products.

"We’ve recently celebrated our 90th anniversary and continue to deliver annual record breaking attendance at all of our events worldwide. Now is an ideal time for the Globetrotters to grow our presence across the Atlantic and we are confident Suited Brands will only build on this success through exciting brand extensions."
