Moomins augmented reality app launches

The beloved Finnish fantasy characters the Moomins will be heading to phones with a new augmented reality app, Moomin Move, which is now available on iOS and Android.

While similar in concept to Pokemon Go, Moomin Move is not a global AR game, it instead focuses on designated locations. Launching as part of Moomin Adventures Easter festival at Kew Gardens, the app will only be avaiable for use at this London locations, with other official Moomin locations rolling out later in the year.

The game will allow players to find and learn more about plants and flowers they find, as well as enjoying other exclusive features including location-based Moomin story events.

Moomin Move is now available for iOS and Android devices. Additional episodes of the game will launch later this year along with other official Moomin locations.

The Moomin Adventures Easter festival at Kew Gardens in London runs until April 17.
