Sony Pictures drops first look at The Dark Tower

Sony Pictures Entertainment has dropped the first trailer for their big-screen adaptation of Stephen King’s fantasy epic novel series.

The movie stars Idris Elba in the lead role of Roland, the Gunslinger, while Matthew McConaughey steps into the shoes of the villainous Man in Black.

Pitched by King, as an ‘alternative’ version of his eight book saga that first debuted in 1982, The Dark Tower is directed by Nikolaj Arcel, previously known for helming A Royal Affair.

The film hits movie theatres on August 4th, while it makes it’s way to the UK for August 18th.
