Just Funky and Bandai partner for new Digimon movie

Just Funky has added Digimon to its growing list of Japanese anime licenses alongside such hit titles as Dragon Ball Z, Yuri on Ice and My Hero Academia.

The partnership comes just in time for the latest Digimon movie, Digimon Adventure Tri with plans to manufacture a wide range of beverageware, home decor, novelty and impulse items, and apparel for retail.

“We are always looking for trending licensed properties that will bring our retail customers and our business the most success," said company president Raj Arora. "Our business is founded on innovation and quality and we are proud to align ourselves with leading media properties like Digimon. Digimon is a license that will cross-genres into gaming, TV, movies and anime and allow us to create a multi-faceted product offering for our retail customers."

Japanese toy maker Bandai originally debuted the Digimon franchise in 1997, as a series of virtual pet toys. Digimon, short for "Digital Monsters," is a Japanese multi-media franchise that has grown to include anime movies, manga books, video games, and trading cards.
