Xbox and Minecraft team with Real Madrid for kids’ coding campaign

Xbox has been named the official console partner for the five-time world champion football team, Real Madrid.

Microsoft has entered a partnership with the football as Real Madrid embarks on its US Summer Tour, inviting fans to join in a variety of events including a Minecraft coding initiative with the team’s players.

The campaign will see the Microsoft Century City store engage local youth groups in Minecraft coding sessions.

‘Empowering youth through passion for sport is an important aspect of our partnership with the Real Madrid Foundation,’ read a press release statement.

‘In parallel, exposure to technology and coding skills can enable access to a better future. Coupled with the values, skills and leadership one learns from sports, technology and gaming can be a powerful partnership to empower and bring about social change.

‘We are pleased to bring the Hour of Code, in partnership with Real Madrid, Minecraft and The Boys and Girls Club of Venice to Microsoft Store in Century City, California.’
