CJ Kettler appointed president of King Features Syndicate

Leading TV producer CJ Kettler has been named as the new president of King Features Syndicate, the firm has announced.

King is one of the top distributors of comics, columns, puzzles and games to print and digital outlets worldwide and one of the largest licensors of brands and comics characters for entertainment programs and consumer products.

Kettler is hailed as a digital media veteran, having cut her teeth at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and as CEO of Sunbow Ent. where she produced and distributed animated series My Little Pony Tales and The Mask.

Most recently Kettler has been credited for bringing the beloved Carmen Sandiego series to Netflix. In her new role, Kettler will be charged with bringing King Features’ stable of iconic characters including Popeye, Betty Boop, Prince Valiant, Flash Gordon and Cuphead, into the digital age as programming continues to expand onto streaming services and OTT platforms. This is a significant move and focus for King Features as they look to bring their brands into the spotlight.
