The French agency Mediatoon Licensing has appointed Those Licensing People as the UK agent for The Magic Roundabout.
The new deal will see TLP handle the licensing programme for both the vintage and CGI versions of the popular pre-school property.
The French stop motion animated series was created in 1963 by Serge Danot and quickly attained cult status in the UK when it engaged an adult audience thanks to Eric Thompson’rsquo;s humorous narrative.
The series went on to form the basis of the 2005 CGI animated film of the same name with an all-star cast that included Robbie Williams as the voice of Dougal and Kylie Minogue as Florence.
“We are thrilled to be representing such an iconic brand that is without a doubt one of the best children’s animated series in UK history and are very excited to be a part of its revival,” said Russell Dever, managing director of Those Licensing People.
The agency will target stationery, gift, apparel and fashion accessories and homewares.
