My Arcade strikes licensing deal with Bandai Namco Entertainment for retro table-top titles

Retro gaming brand, My Arcade has secured the rights to release a new range of table-top arcade machines and handhelds based on Bandai Namco’s heritage titles.

The initial line-up will feature gaming’s first icon Pac-Man among other classics such as Galaga and Dig Dug.

The Micro Player arcades will feature artwork inspired by the original cabinets, large full-coloured screens, backlit coin traps, plus a removable joystick for those who prefer to use a directional pad to play.

Additional titles from Bandai Namco Entertainment’s library will be released later on in the year.

“We are honoured to work with Bandai Namco Entertainment to bring such iconic titles to a new generation of gamers,” said Crystal Dugan, My Arcade’s marketing manager.

“Pac-Man, Dig-Dug and Galaga are nostalgic titles for myself and everyone who grew up playing them at their local arcade. They are such an important part of gaming history and we are thrilled to bring these back in a unique way to a whole new audience.”

The licensed Micro Player Arcades and other handhelds are set to hit shelves in late spring 2018.
