Barbie goes tomb raiding with new movie tie-in

Mattel has revealed a brand new Barbie Tomb Raider doll, based on Alicia Vikander’s portrayal of video game hero, Lara Croft.

Presale for the doll kicks off later today on Barbie.com, retailing for $29.99.

The doll comes packaged with various accessories, including a map, axe, journal, doll stand and a Certificate of Authenticity.

A reboot of the Tomb Raider movie franchise will debut in cinemas on March 16th, 2018. The seems to be thematically consistent with the video game reboot simply title Tomb Raider which launched in 2013 and its sequel Rise of the Tomb Raider which launched on Xbox One in 2015, and a year later on PS4.
