Opro mouthguards renews partnership with Women’s Gaelic Player’s Association

Opro, the team behind the popular sporting mouthguard brand has renewed its official partnership with the Women’s Gaelic Player’s Association.

The extension of Opro’s initial one-year deal will see Opro provide mouthguards to all intercounty Ladies Football players, in line with the WGPA’s goals to enhance the playing experience of its athletes.

The deal will see the launch of a licensed range of WGPA mouthguards available online and throughout Opro’s global network or retailers.

The agreement will see Opro support Ladies Gaelic football players while promoting safe sport through teeth protection. It builds on the introduction of financial support from Irish government in 2017 increasing access to injury prevention and medical cover, sport science services and specialist facilities.

As the official mouthguard of the WGPA, and with partnerships already in place with the Gaelic athletic Association and Gaelic Player’s Association, the deal solidifies Opro’s stance as ‘the mouthguard of Gaelic football.’

David Allen, Opro chief executive officer, David Allen, said: “We are delighted to be able to play our part in recognising the contributions and efforts of Ladies Gaelic football players. By providing them with the most comfortable, best-fitting and reliable mouthguards we hope to foster the continued growth of the sport.”

Aoife lane, WGPA chairperson, reiterated support for the partnership: “Increasing player welfare is one of our key aims and we are delighted to continue our work with Opro to grow this support for players. The new licensed range also provides a valuable opportunity to increase the visibility of players on packaging and in-store and acknowledges the continued growth of our games.”
