Sybo Games’ Subway Surfers animated series makes online debut this month

Mobile game franchise, Subway Surfers is making has made the leap to short-form content with the debut of the new animated series this June 1.

The run of ten four-minute episodes from Sybo Games has been scripted by Brent Friedman (Star Wars Rebels) and Francesca Marie Smith (Hey Arnold) and produced by the Daytime Emmy award-winning producer Sander Schwartz.

The series is now available on Sybo’s YouTube channel, allowing fans to get to know the characters from the mobile game series for the first time.

“It’s so incredibly rewarding and amazing to see Subway Surfers come full circle,” said Bodie Jahn-Mulliner, co-creator of the animated short series.

Together with Sylvester Rishoj, Jahn-Mulliner created Sybo Games with the publisher Kiloo who helped bring Subway Surfers to the mobile game arena. Earlier this year, Subway Surfers became the first game to pass one billion downloads in Google Play’s store.

“The series echoes what fans have come to expect from these characters and the Subways Surfers’ universe; an edgy, cool, street-style vibe with the unexpected,” said Rishoj.

Every month, Subway Surfers lands in a new city or country. Its key characters have travelled to more than 43 destinations, graffiti-tagging and evading the grumpy inspector and his dog.

A long form series is now also in development, currently slated for a late 2019 launch.
