The Frida Kahlo Corporation is continuing to build out the official licensing and merchandising programme for the iconic South American artist, partnering with the UK company, Flamingo Candles.
The latest licensee to launch Frida Kahlo licensed product, Flamingo Candle is a design and trend-led outfit conceived in the UK in 2013 when it launched with its own design, Florrie the Flamingo.
The new collection was launched this week and includes nine different scented candles, key rings and a star wall art piece. The partnership is the latest stage in Flamingo Candles ongoing evolution in the market.
Each of the candles in Flamingo’s portfolio ar designed and hand-poured by its team in South Wales, using natural soy wax, cotton wicks and a mixture of fragrances. The range can often be found in high street fashion shops like Topshop, Urban Outfitters, ASOS, Missguided, Pretty Little Thing, Firebox, Moonpig, Amazon, Very and Not on the High Street.
“We love Frida Kahlo’s art and spirit and feel that both she and her work fit in extremely well with our brand. We are very excited to be collaborating with such an inspirational icon and want the products to be a talking point by reflecting Frida’s passion, optimism and courage,” said Ryan Francis, managing director of Flamingo Candles.
The deal was brokered by the Spanish licensing agent Art Ask Agency.
The Frida Kahlo Corporation is a Panamanian Corporation with offices in the US. The outfit is on a mission to educate, share and preserve Frida Kahlo’s art, image and legacy. The group was created in 2005 when the artist’s heirs transferred all of her rights to the business.
