Fanattik is hunting down pop culture success with Rambo collectables lines

The UK collectables company, Fanattik has just signed a European wide, multi-year deal with Studiocanal for the pop cult movie franchise Rambo.

The deal, brokered by Creative Licensing Corporation, will cover all of the titles in the Rambo series including First Blood, Rambo First Blood Part II and Rambo III.

The first Rambo film was released in 1982 and follows former Green Beret, John Rambo, as he is pursued into the mountains surrounding a small town by a tyrannical sheriff and his deputies, forcing him to survive using his combat skills.

Anthony Marks, managing director at Fanattik, said: "The Rambo films are iconic with a multi-generational fan base that are looking for collectables.

"This is a brand we have had our eye on for some time and sits perfectly with our existing portfolio of film properties from Universal Studios, 20th Century Fox and Paramount Studios."

Rambo V, the latest instalment in the action film series starring Sylvester Stallone, has been slated for cinematic release later this year. Marks has indicated that the release ‘only highlights the longevity of the Rambo brand’ among modern audiences and fans.

Melissa Tudor, product development at Fanattik, added: "The items that we are creating will include the likeness of Sylvester Stallone as John Rambo and that will make a big difference to the collectibles we produce, we are very much a fan focused company and the fans want to see Rambo on the product."
