Sanrio signs up Lazy Oaf for Mr Men Little Miss statement collection

Sanrio’s popular Mr. Men Little Miss brand has teamed up with the fashion name Lazy Oaf for a unisex range of apparel and accessories.

The 17 piece collection will include a statement cardigan with iconic scenes from the classic books, a Mr. Happy jumpsuit and a range of Mr. Lazy tees. Launching on the 22nd August 2019, the collection has been Lazy Oaf’s best received range for Autumn/Winter this year.

It will launch in fashion retailers such as Urban Outfitters UK and US, Asos, and will be sold at Lazy Oaf stores and online.

“Mr Men books and cartoons were such a staple in my childhood, they instantly make me feel nostalgic,” said Gemma Shiel, founder of Lazy Oaf.

“The simplicity of their shapes and lines and personalities fit so well with the Lazy Oaf aesthetic and creating a collection was so much fun. It was important for me to make it feel contemporary but also have that mid 80s nostalgic feel, which is probably when I was at my peak fandom as a six or seven year old.

“The collection is bright and streetwear focussed with some of the key characters we felt resonated the most with us Oafs.”

Sabrina Segalov, senior licensing manager at Sanrio, added: “We are so excited to be working with Lazy Oaf on this Mr Men collaboration, it has been great to see how Gemma and the team have interpreted and developed our classic characters into a streetwear collection.”
