USAopoly secures first Star Wars deal with Disney

The board game and puzzle publisher, USAopoly has finally got its hands on the Star Wars license, thanks to a nw partnership with Disney Consumer Products that will see the company launch a raft of themed games into Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The initial Star Wars line-up from USAopoly, the team behind the hit titles Telestrations and Blank Slate, will feature a light strategy tabletop game.

USAopoly has partnered with Disney on a number of products over the last 15 years, including Codenames: Disney Family Edition, Munchkin: Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Edition and Disney Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: A Gemstone Mining Game.

This new agreement not only grants USAopoly the Star Wars license for the first time, but also the international distribution rights to some of the most popular titles from its current portfolio of over 70 Disney-licensed products. It also spans select unannounced upcoming games.

“Star Wars has an unparalleled ability to connect people from different generations, cultures and backgrounds, which is an important value shared by USAopoly,” said Candace Brenner, vice president of marketing for USAopoly.

“Whether we stood in line for the debut motion picture or have watched the television series with our children, Star Wars has had a significant impact on many of us here at USAopoly. We are thrilled to be partnering with Disney Consumer Products to create another avenue where rebels, Jedi and fans alike can come together to enjoy the vast universe.”
